I just checked with my Wireless Provider (AT&T) and got the low-down on using your Cellphone/Blackberry etc while on the cruise.
If you turn your Phone on while you are on the Ship and send or receive a phone call - it is $2.49 a minute regardless of you plan. The Ship has it's own Tower and that is what they charge the provider which ultimately gets passedon to you. This includes incoming calls that go to your voicemail. You are charged for 1 minute!
Most plans (or at least mine) cover you in San Juan, St. John and on the little Cay (I'm pretty sure). It does not cover Turks and Caicos. So, you can use you Moble Device when you are actually on these Islands without an additional charge. But Turks and Caicos is another story.
You will be charged additionally for Emails sent and recieved too. It is 2 cents for every KB. You can purchase a package that gives you 20 MB, but you only really need it for T & C.
So it appears that we should all leave our Devices turned off at all times on the Ship and when in T & C.
If you have a different provider you might want to check, but it looks like it will be the same for everyone.
See you all soon!

It's getting close, Gang!
Well, I have a feeling this is not a "Group Costume" group. So I would recommend that it's every man( or gal) for themselves. Jeff Lewis-Mathieu posted a link on a previous post of pictures from the cruise last year. It is very helpful if you are tyring to get an idea of how people dress. It looks like they had a "Blue" party - so just picture Lime instead of Blue.
I would suggest that if you find a great Lime Costume. Maybe post what it is and where you got it so that if people are still looking for something they can check it out.
To be identified by name on this site, you need to go to google.com and open up a gmail account. It takes about a minute.
Start packing!

Reserve, Reserve, Reserve!
By now everyone should have received an email from RSVP with your HAL# to Book your reservations for Dinner and starting today you can book excursions as well! Go to www.HollandAmerica.com to do so.
It is my understanding that the earlier you do these, the better! Any advice other's can add would be much appreciated.
How about those costumes people? Ideas?

Anyone know where I can get a set of Lime Pasties?
For those of you who think you are not going to want to participate in any of the costume events, some food for thought. I understand from people that have gone on these before that most people end up wishing they had brought something fun to wear. So, it might be a good idea to bring a few select pieces and if you change your mind, you will be prepared.
Those of us who are wanting to dress appropriately, should probably start to coordinate a little sooner rather then later.
And by the way, tell these other peeps to sign on and take part in this! Otherwise, we may not me including them in anything fun we plan!
